SEMICHKOV'S GET A NEW
TRANSMISSION FOR JUST $400!
God's grace beats man's greed every time. The
Semichkov foster family really has God in their
corner. When the oldest boys came into town
seeking a new transmission for their '83 Volga the
local "cheaper" place quoted them $900! Just a
couple of months earlier they were told $600 would
buy it. We had $500 in the bridge fund and they
had another $100 so we thought together we had
it covered. What to do? I prayed and the Lord
gave me the name of our old driver, Igor Holonin.
Igor got on the horn with his parts buddy and the
Semichkovs are rejoicing because they bought a
brand new transmission for only $400.

| Every child is a miracle but on November 22nd at 3 AM Anna Petrovna was born to a Christian lady who scarcely a year ago had taken a chance on a rehabilitated alcoholic. Peter Konovalov has come to be not only a well recovered proud parent and responsible family man, but by God's grace he was adopted into the River of Joy family as the new guardian of the River of Joy campus. For Peter that meant his wife Tatiana's labor was overseen by the grateful Head Doctor of the Belogorsk Hospital maternity Ward, who has received a Joy Foundations. Dr. Eldar did not go home at 3 PM, when he usually knocks off, but he and Doctor Angela stayed with Tatiana until her baby was born 12 hours later! Anna Petrovna Konovalova weighed in at 2 kilograms, 550 grams and was proclaimed healthy by Light of Crimea Pediatrician Tatiana Vyaltseva not long after her birth. The family is at home at River Road 7 in Ovrashki, the ROJ Campus. |

| DAVID'S RENT IS PAID A MIRACLE OF TIMING "When you reach the end of your rope God shows up." I had NO money for my apartment rent in December, and I almost went into panic mode when mid-month rolled around and the landlord called about the rent...almost. At last I am learning that God has my incapabilities well in hand. I had been helping a brother acquire musical instruments. He had said he would pay me but I had not seen any money from him. He paid me the day before my landlord came. Another miracle of God's JIT delivery. |

| Last Friday two NIICCA humanitarian aid containers arrived at once! I was out in the country attending a year end party with villagers whose children were getting toys from ROJ. Katya Rigotun looked around and there was Tonia Tskhay, former Light of Crimea Director. Tonia volunteered and between them they got all paperwork done that day and the containers packed into two warehouses. We had prayed the containers would come in and pass customs before year's end. The next day, Saturday was the last work day of 2007. Customs has taken three months to clear a container, but they cleared our containers in ONE DAY! God did it again! Some of my favorite miracles are those that move Crimea's bureaucratic mountains. |

ANTI CORRUPTION CRUSADER
YULIA TYMOSHENKO BACK ON TOP
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who won back her
Ukraine prime minister's seat somehow just this December,
declared on TV that she will arrange double anti-corruption
control in her government. She has mentioned cars that are
worth hundreds of thousands of dollars that were sold for
$300 each to parliament ministers. Others signed tenders
showing their offices 'bought' items for 10 times what they
really cost if one is to believe their accounts. She doesn't
yet know how to stop it but she has promised to try. Taking
control of the audit seems to be one way she will go about
it. "We want the law to give the Account Chamber a right not
only to control and audit, but to appeal to a court directly”, -

| MEZHGORIE VILLAGE KIDS HAVE A PARTY When Ukraine's agricultural infrastructure fell apart village celebrations died out. As much Mezhgorie for the first of two children's New Years parties, the one I could attend. River of Joy director Alina Novitski organized and MC'ed a community celebration for the children. Like most New Years parties it did not even come close to being about Jesus. But it was about children and about making it fun for them. Alina thinks our participation in community events like this where Muslims and Christians celebrate together help to make a place for our nearby project in the hearts of the people. There can't be much time for this stuff though, with the Lord's return eminent. Well the kids were beautiful... |

Belogorsk, I wondered how we could possibly help. We were
well over a thousand dollars in the red and the Glucometer
instrument for the diabetic child he told us about could run to
$200 with test strips. I heard myself agreeing to help! You can
imagine my relief when Dr Tatiana came in reporting that she
got a new Glucometer with only a 5 kopek outlay! That is a new
medical instrument for a US Penny! It is clear that with God it is
not about the money. He can do what He wants done!
