| Pastor Yuri Kuzmin Jr. was a teenager when he participated in the 1999 prayer walk. Since then prophetic prayer acts and prayer journeys like this have been a large part of his lively ministry. Thats Yuri far left with the white conqueror's flag and the shofar. On the bunker with him are Oleg with the flag of redemption, Anatoli with the rainbow covenant flag, and Kolya holding up the yellow healing pennant. | Experiencing the current financial crisis in Crimea is, as Yogi Berra once said, "Deja vu all over again!" (BTDT) Recently in Vine's Greek/Hebrew Dictionary I bumped into two often repeated Bible words that shocked me. One was, 'Krisis' and the other was, 'Krima.' 'Krisis' in Russian means what 'crisis' does in English. Here in Crimea the current depression is the 'krisis!' But in Biblical Greek, 'krisis' means trial or legal investigation! 'Krima' is Russian for Crimea, but in Biblical Greek 'krima' is, 'verdict' or 'judgment!' It seems that this crisis is actually a test wherein our core values are brought to light, How? Could it be by revealing our spending priorities? (1 Peter 4:17-18) Jesus gave a word picture that helps us understand this season. He said that Father God prunes his vines so their strength will go to bearing more fruit. When I was a teen I spent summers pruning my grandfather's orange trees of 'suckers.' Sucker branches never bear oranges, but sap the strength of the tree for their own use. Suckers are thorny (cause pain) and always grow vertically (they're proud). Hopefully we've no sucker branches in our mission, but I took social security retirement benefits at my earliest opportunity 3+ years ago, not to retire, but I had been living in a widow granny's living room for nearly ten years and really wanted a place of my own. I rented an old apartment and made it comfortable. It was a nice change. But comfort is really not why I am here in Crimea. God sent me here to bear fruit. So it is time to prune. | TEN YEARS ON > A CRIMEAN PRAYER WALK REPRISE SOLIDIFYING KINGDOM GAINS |
Prayer Walk started with prophetic prayer acts in the 'Turkish Wall' at Krasno Perikopsk which marks the extreme North end of Crimea. On March 30 our 2009 Prophetic Prayer Walk began the same way. Well not exactly the same. We still pounded a stake in the ground laden with Bible references to claim Krima for the Lord, but the new stake was made of steel! All who attended our 1999 efforts to hammer a wooden stake into the ground at the bottom of this huge ditch that has been Crimea's historical Northern line of defense will remember that we wound up with a broken stake and several splinters hammered into that very hard earth. Our 2009 stake of steel went in completely whole. We trust this means that the coming revival is going to be penetrating, perfect and unbroken by any satanic counterattack. Most of Ukraine's adolescents (84% of the boys and 69% of the girls) from 13 to 16 years of
age have tried smoking. 20% of Ukraine's teen habitual smokers smoke nearly every day.
Every 4.5 minutes a Ukrainian citizen dies because of the smoking habit. There is a draft law in
Kiev to curb the habit, but even as lawmakers deliberate, more and more children are hooked.
River of Joy engaged regional Belogorsk schools in a new way this school year. We began to
show videos and talk to the school assemblies about dangerous habits. Our video on the
dangers of smoking was a resounding success. It brought such strong reactions from the
children, we have every hope that most of them will choose not to smoke, or to quit now.
Next presentation is on the perils of alcohol consumption. We plan to follow up with videos on
the dangers of premarital sex and the AIDS epidemic. We will finish this round with a film
showing the development of a live fetus in hopes abortion will not be an option for these
children. Sadly, presently in Ukraine the average woman has seven of them.

Mother Ruth asked after the girl who hugged her in
the tent of meeting at camp to pray for her. Her
name is Anastasia (Nastia for short).
She came to Christ early last Spring during tent
evangelism in Kurckoe village. She came to the
tent, listened attentively, really repented and was
filled with the Holy Spirit. Then all Nastia wanted to
do was hang about the tent.
She was one of the poor village kids who received
a free sponsorship for camp. Nastia loved ROJ
camp. She went to the camp prayer tent to pray
every morning early. Nastia really loves the Lord.
Sadly, Nastia's step 'pa' is a mean alcoholic who
beat up her mother and put her in the hospital.
Nastia had to look after the house in her absence.
Please pray for Nastia. (She sends greetings.)

his faith at ROJ camp. Since then, though bus
fare is steep for a gypsy, he often travels into
town to attend Church of Jesus Christ where I
worship. Adoul has made a difference. Now his
whole Roma tribe has been coming to Christ!
Alexander (in the rear) ministers at our church's

have begun to help. Saturday 40 souls came out.
They meet for group prayers every morning. But
only one person among them can read. So they
encircle their reader for Bible study and prayer.
